Full Service Interior Design

You want your home to simplify your everyday life and help you thrive, but aren’t sure how to get there. A Good Home provides design decisions and beautiful, hardworking solutions for those who are designing, decorating, renovating or building their homes in Connecticut. We mix our favorite materials and styles for a decidedly approachable and sophisticated result. A blend of our signature style with a strong understanding of our clients’ personality and favorite pieces is reflected in each space we design. Each project is unique, and we’re confident that together we can bring your vision to life.

Outline of the Process

  • Consultation

    Our design services begin with an in-home consultation. During the consultation, we take an in-depth look at your space to help us understand your goals to get started on creating solutions that work for you. We’ll discuss decisions and brainstorm ideas. We take lots of time to ask questions about the project, discuss your goals, preferences, style and more. During this time, all pictures, measurements, any necessary inventory and pertinent information regarding the project will be collected. The consultation typically takes around 2 Hrs.

    CONSULTATION FEE: $1,399 Flat Rate per room/space/project

  • Design

    Post-consultation, we get to work designing a plan that is specific to your space. We devise an estimate based on our hourly rate, a flat rate shopping fee, all project selections, and any necessary project assistance (for example, moving help or handymen). The selections are specific to the information that was provided and gathered during your consultation. All product purchased is subject to client approval, and will be billed for reimbursement accordingly.

    PROJECT RATE: $160/Hr

    SHOPPING FEE: $699 Flat Rate

  • Procurement & Project Management

    Three weeks after your consultation, you are provided with a comprehensive project design proposal. Once the project and selections are approved, a 50% deposit is required to book your project. We’ll then schedule your project days and get to work on prepping for your install. We manage the project from purchase order through installation and turn-key completion. We'll handle all of the details and logistics of the process from start to finish to ensure that everything is organized, on time, and on track with close attention to detail every step of the way. From managing your order to warehousing all the items, as well as directing handymen and movers (if necessary), our seamless process makes our services turn-key for our clients.

  • Installation

    On install day, we pull it all together to create a functional + stylized space for you. We make sure all the pieces of your space(s) are pulled together, allowing you to walk into your freshly styled home and feel instant joy. We even take care of finishing touches to elevate your design and tell your story.

 FAQs

  • A Consultation for a design project is $1,399 per project. A Consultation for an organizing project is $699 per project. Projects are defined as a single space or room. For a combined organizing + design project, the consultation cost is $2,098.

    Kitchens and pantries are considered separate projects/spaces.

  • Your consultation includes a 1.5-2 Hr in-person meeting at the project location. During your consult, we take an in-depth look at your space and take lots of time to ask questions about the project, discuss your goals, preferences, style and more. We also take pictures, measurements and any necessary inventory. We then use all of that information to devise a project design and provide you with a Project Proposal. Your project proposal is a comprehensive overview that is completely custom to your space, and is inclusive of a design, layouts, moodboards and all product/material selections, and a project estimate.

  • Please make payment prior to or at the end of your scheduled in-home consultation. Project designs and estimates are not started until your consultation payment has been received.

  • We accept check (preferred), cash and Venmo. If paying via Venmo, there is 3% service fee applied per transaction.

  • The consultation fee accounts for the time spent in your home during the consultation, as well as design and planning time in the studio for your project. We take a great deal of time and effort in doing this, and therefore our consultation fee is non-refundable. No exceptions are made to this policy.

  • We would love the opportunity to work on multiple projects with you! With our unique approach, projects are preferred to be done one-space/room-at-a-time, as it allows us the chance to dedicate the necessary and proper time, energy, and resources to produce the best possible outcome for each project. Our project fees, including a flat rate consultation and shopping services, are applied to each project.

  • That's our favorite combo! Most of our projects include a mix of organizing and design services. Combined organizing + design fees will be applied to your project.

  • For renovation/build-out projects, we provide an estimate in your Project Overview based on our hourly rate and an estimation of the hours we believe it will take from start to finish (including any dedicated selections, additional meetings, management, the final installation, etc).

  • We charge our standard hourly rate for drive times that are in excess of thirty minutes (each way) to the designated location from/to our studio.

  • All communication with clients is done through email or by pre-scheduled phone calls and/or meetings. However, on scheduled meeting days or project/install days, we often communicate with our clients via text as needed.

  • Our full-service home organizing and interior styling services are high-end and high-touch. We consider it to be a worthwhile investment. Every project is approached individually and every estimate is 100% custom to the space, so we cannot provide an estimate until we send your Project Proposal with your design and estimate.

  • Yes, if it is necessary for the project, typically in design projects.

  • This range can vary greatly, and depends on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) the scope of the project, shipping times, handymen availability, and our coordinating schedules. Typical, straight-forward organizing projects usually have a 4-6 week lead time from the in-home consultation to project implementation/install. Design and styling projects naturally have longer lead times.

  • As a full-service home organization and styling company, we manage the project from start to finish, and that includes the ordering of all materials, furnishings, housewares, etc. For a multitude of reasons, we do not permit clients to make the purchases.

  • At this point in time, this is not a service that we offer in-house, however, we would be happy to recommend a contractor (or team up with yours), and work in coordination with them and you to bring your dream space to life.

  • No, we do not offer DIY Services, neither for organizing nor interior design. As a full-service studio, we facilitate projects from conception (initial consultation) through completion (installation) and manage every step of the process.
